Collecting Shadows

These images continue interests developed in Collecting Feathers, those interests being history and the potential for both abstraction and documentation with the photogram process.

To make a photogram of a model depicting an idea is to create an abstraction of an abstraction of an abstraction. The images in Collecting Shadows are created from models, drawings or texts exposed onto photographic paper while on-site at science-based museums. Single sheets of paper were used for smaller displays with multiple sheets for larger displays as needed, at times affecting image rendering due to paper shifts.
